Mams United.

On a Saturday morning not so long ago i observed the greatness that graces our soccer fields at Doctors Road. She drives through with purpose, parks her vehicle and lets young Lampard or Stevie G out of the vehicle. He knows what he's here for, and incidentally, so does she. As Stevie G is put through his pre-match preperations with the excellent coaches so does Mam. She has the same spot congregating wih the other Mams in packs either by the corner flags, at the halfway line or just in between. Talk is of recession or sessions but when that whistle blows all eyes are focussed on the Stevie G's.

These ladyfolk of our club know it all. Their vocalism and gestures are a work of art and hey, what does the ref really know. No one has a bad game at Doctors Road (the way it should be) and there are no bad supporters (equally the way it should be). It begs the question, where are our menfolk!!. Are we being overshadowed by these ladies with supreme sporting soccer knowledge!!. Yes "MAMS UTD" is in full swing at Doctors Road  every Saturday morning and long may it last. The final whistle blows, our Stevie G's are tired after their battles and MAMS UTD are tired too. They have been in a vocal battle. No one has a bad day at Doctors Road on a Saturday morning. Congrarulate yourself ladies on another job well done. Gentlemen..........!

I asked my good wife to come down to manzors, have a coffee, watch the top of the table clash between Chelsea and the Pool and sample the atmosphere. Football of pure gile, gut and magic. No interest, "Doctors Road is where it's at" she said with more magic gile and guts. I watched it with the "gentlemen", very vocal i might add!
May you continue to support your boys and girls of Clane Utd.
Long live MAMS UTD!!!
